Animated shows for you.

Cartoons, or animated series are mostly associated with kids. Adults are often repelled by the idea of watching cartoons. I, on the other hand was stuck watching Digimon Data Squad even when my sister had moved on to adult television shows.
So today, I’ve decided to cover some animated show series that I think every adult looking for entertainment and a bit of humor must watch. The Simpsons being an exception to the adults hate animated series rule, won’t be part of this post.

Daria
Produced for MTV, is the perfect cartoon show for all teenagers out there. It covers the life of a highschool teenage girl. Now before you get the impression that it’s one of those glamorous teenage chick flicks and relationship problems, you’re mistaken. Daria’s acute sarcasm lends a lot of humor to the show. The show stars a variety of characters. All different from each other, none of then being evil or good, which makes them all the more relatable to people in our real life. Frustrated with the education system or the dumb people in your class who can’t shut up about how smart they are? Just lay back and let Daria say it all for you.

Archer
When a friend asked me to watch Archer, I didn’t instantly comply. But two episodes in, and I finished the whole season over a weekend. This show was created for the FX network and it’s viewers impatiently await it’s sixth season. Archer is a spy working for a secret agency called ISIS. An agency that deals comically with its funding issues, has a “hostile working environment”, and extremely strong headed employees. What makes the show worth it is Archer’s stubbornness, the impunity with which shots are fired and well, Pam (got to watch the show to know what I’m talking about, you are in for a lot of adult humor). Archer’s never ending need to satisfy his mother coupled with an inflated self image makes the show all the more funny.

Rick and Morty
Part of cartoon network’s late night programming block, this show is about a super smart granddad and his grandson, Morty. Morty acts as a foil to Rick, highlighting his gutsy behavior and smartness. Rick is a scientist testing intergalactic technology and formulas. He takes a not so willing Morty along with him to all his missions. Traveling from one universe to the next as casually as one walks down the hall makes this show fascinating. My favorite part was the way it comes together at the end, coupled with all of Ricks inventions and Morty’s sacrifices. This too, like all the prior mentioned shows is a must watch. So go, get a high off these funny and thought provoking adult cartoons.
